Sailing routes optimization workshop

As you know the fastest route is not the straight line. Have you ever wondered what is the optimal route of a cruise?

Due to the wind rolls frequently and changes its intensity and on the other hand, the speed of the boat changes according to the conditions, it is not intuitive to know which is the optimal route.

In this workshop we will explain how to optimize routes in cruise regattas using simple tools available to everyone. Taking into account the characteristics of the boat and the appropriate weather model, with a simple app we can plan the route and track and update it during navigation.

In this presentation we will also learn very important values for the route follow-up during the regatta: VMG (Velocity Made Good) and VMC (Velocity Made Course)
